ASHOX

Shox

Shox might be one of London’s best-kept secrets, but not for long. This 26-year-old DJ/producer has fanned the flames of UK funky, house and grime and made DJs from every scene catch the fever. Whether he?s producing futuristic tracks for big floors or showing off new cuts and dope mixing skills on his Rinse FM show, young Shox is definitely a powerhouse.

His sound consists of bold and industrial basslines which has fast become his signature sound paired with edgy, fast flowing percussion and he’s know for his huge kick drums. Support has been widespread and diverse for the Hackney kid with major tastemakers such as Mary Anne Hobbs, Zed Bias, Crookers, Brodinksi, Mistajam, Untold, Zinc and Toddla T and more adopting his tracks and mixes religiously.

Not to mention he runs his own label Hundred2ONE Recordings showcasing his own sounds and new producers to the scene. His latest offering ‘Artillery’ was picked up by New York’s forefront label Trouble and Bass and was well received leading to his first mini tour of the states with gigs in NY alongside Fools Gold Records and also Philadelphia for a headline slot at Mad Decent Mondays.

Fast forward back to today and Shox has gone into studio lockdown to work on something special for the first quarter of 2013 whilst he continues to hold down his Rinse FM show, keep up the travel with his DJ shows and tour with Katy B as her official DJ. Our advice. Keep all eyes and ears on this Londoner.
