Today we woke up to an email from Lara a friend of ours at independent blog ‘Make It Good.’ After Make It Good & Fat Kid On Fire supporting our events and work for almost a year now its great to see them both stepping into the world of events. Suprisingly this isn’t a London, or even a UK thing. This is a Gothenburg thing.
After a year of ongoing debate around where Dubstep is headed and with comments from music elitiests like James Blake saying it has almost turned into a ‘Pissing Competition’ on who can make the ‘most aggressive bass’ sounds.
As for Dubstep Bastards they have always been home to some of the most off-center stuff in the genre which always makes it refreshing and exciting to see what they bring forward. With America’s Joe Nice playing their last installment!
Dubstep Bastards x Make It Good x Fat Kid On Fire present a night in the heart of Gothenburg with one of the most exciting newcomers in Dubstep, Killawatt. Not to mention Thelem, a dark, ‘right-winged sounding’ beatsmith.
The night will be occupying a defunct, graffitied power station beside the giant Älvsborgsbron river, Sten is one of Sweden’s coolest art centres. Its four gritty floors are home to any number of temporary exhibitions, ranging from edgy Swedish photography to New York sound installations. There’s an indie-style cafe with summertime riverside seating, weekly live music and club nights and offbeat one-offs like punk bike races, boxing matches and stand-up comedy.
If the line up is not quite enough, The Bastards, FatKidOnFire and MakeItGood are also extremely pleased to offer an exclusive travel package to anyone based in the UK who wishesto travel to Sweden to attend the event. For just £150, we’ll provide airport transfers to and from one of the city’s nicest hotels, as well as entry to the venue. All of this and your first drink free once you enter Röda Sten. Please note, this package does not include flights from/to the UK to Gothernburg – you must purchase these yourself!
