Hyponik 10: Celebrating 10 years of dancefloor epiphanies

London’s favourite promo team, Hyponik, is turning 10 this year, and is having an intimate friends and family party at Dalston’s Birthdays to celebrate. From its early development alongside the then burgeoning dubstep scene, taking over Fabric in one of the club’s biggest ever recorded Bank Holiday shows, to pushing a new generation of artists, producers and DJs via its ever-growing online presence, Hyponik’s ten years’ success in the capital’s ever-changing but always exciting electronic music scene is an achievement in itself. With its open mind and real dedication to supporting artists, and doing its best to avoid the vagaries of fashion, Hyponik has always been at the cutting edge of the UK’s dancefloors and studios.

Friday 19th October will see the celebration of their 10th birthday at the apppropriately named Birthdays venue, headlined by a secret special guest from Hyperdub whose trajectory as shaper of the bass and funky scenes has been as glittering as that of Hyponik. Rinse FM trailblazer Brackles will be spinning house, garage, UK funky and more, while Mr. Beatnick’s infectious blend of house, boogie and soul will showcase the best in house music both modern and classic. Rounding off the bill will be new talent Lakosa, a Northern producer pushing the envelope with bass music influenced by garage, house, jungle and soul and more, whose staggeringly good mix for Hypnonik you can check below.

There will of course also be sets from Hypnonik residents, providing the best in electronic music for your delectation in a fitting celebration of ten whole years of blood, sweat, bass, tears, rapturous joy, sheer craziness, beats and — of course — the love of great music.

And it’s free. Just fill out the Facebook form to be added to the list:
